Diane Frederick

Diane has more than 20 years experience in research-based marketing strategy. Her work has covered a broad range of business issues, with particular emphasis in brand health evaluation and behavioral tracking for consumer packaged goods businesses. Along with her partners, she formed Blueocean Market Intelligence to return to her roots as a hands-on researcher, engaging directly in clients' business issues. Prior to Blueocean, Diane was Executive Vice President and a corporate board member for Research International, where she held a number of positions from leading client service teams to directing the research operations function.

Alice Fawver

Alice brings over 20 years of strategy, marketing and research experience in the retail, technology and consumer package goods industries to Blueocean. Through her executive marketing roles, Alice has developed deep expertise in establishing strategic direction, identifying white-space opportunities, developing and growing major brands, launching new products, and improving customer satisfaction and retention. Alice’s research credentials span both qualitative and quantitative disciplines with extensive background in segmentation, new product development, brand evaluation, advertising and customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Blueocean Market Intelligence, Alice was Senior Vice President of Client Services at Research International and Senior Vice President of Retail Measurement Services for The Nielsen Company.

Shaikat Sen

Shaikat has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of quantitative and qualitative market research, including new product development, customer satisfaction, advertising effectiveness, positioning, segmentation and price sensitivity research. Shaikat brings a strong background in applied research, particularly in the healthcare industry with positions such as Intel Corporation’s Digital Health Research Manager and Director of Healthcare Research for J.D. Power and Associates. He has also served as Vice President of Product Development at OnScreen Interactive, and as Vice President of Research and Business Development at Advantage Research, Inc. Prior to becoming a partner at Blueocean, Shaikat was Vice President of Client Services at Research International.

Ajith Sankaran

Ajith brings over 12 years of experience in market research and business consulting – five of which has been spent with Blueocean. Previously, he was the Head of Software and Services Research at IDC India and a Senior Consultant with Deloitte. Ajith currently drives the market intelligence and competitive intelligence practice.

Bharati Eligar

Bharati has over 13 years of experience in market research in the various primary streams – six of which has been spent with Blueocean. Past roles for Bharati have included Head of Research at Shining Strategic Identity Pvt. Ltd., a leading brand consulting firm in Bangalore and managing research at UTV in Mumbai.

Gary Nearn

Gary is a seasoned market research professional with 13 years experience. He has a balanced view of the industry, having spent six years as a research supplier with a London, UK-based agency, and six years as a client-side researcher for a leading US financial institution. Gary is an expert in large scale, quantitative customer satisfaction studies and helps clients drive greater value from their research through insights, data analysis and continuous process improvement.

Dr. Kumar Mehta – Global CEO (Cross-Tab)

Kumar has been intimately involved in the market research industry for more than two decades. Prior to joining Blueocean's parent company Cross-Tab, Kumar spent over 13 years at Microsoft in a variety of senior positions including Director of Market Research and Senior Director of Strategy and Finance. His contributions to research, especially related to consumers and their relationship to technology, have been significant and widely recognized. Passionate about the role market research can play in shaping business strategy, Kumar has been invited to speak on numerous occasions about the transformation of market research.
